General Manager NIPO

Mr. Shahbaz Ahmad serves as the General Manager of the Intellectual Property (IP) Office at NUST. He holds a Master’s degree in Healthcare Biotechnology and is among the few certified patent agents in Pakistan, bringing together deep scientific expertise and specialized IP knowledge. Since joining the NUST IP Office in 2019, Mr. Ahmad has led initiatives to protect and commercialize the university’s intellectual assets while fostering a culture of innovation and technology transfer.

He is a PatentX: Patent Law and Global Public Health graduate, a program jointly offered by Harvard Law School (HLS) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and has also completed the International Executive Program on Intangible Asset Management organized jointly by WIPO and Intellectual Property Office Singapore. These global credentials strengthen his ability to align NUST’s IP practices with international best standards. Under his leadership, the NUST IP Office continues to guide researchers, faculty, and students in safeguarding their inventions, facilitating licensing and commercialization, and advancing industry-academia collaboration for national and global impact.
